Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2011 750ml

Biondi-Santi

  • Grape Variety: 100% Sangiovese Grosso (BBS11 clone).

  • Training System: Spurred cordon.

  • Soil: Predominantly marl-rich soils with a mix of clay and limestone.

  • Altitude: Approximately 500 meters above sea level.

  • Vine Age: 10 to 25 years.

  • Harvest: Manual harvesting began on September 10, 2011.

  • Vinification: Fermentation occurred in a combination of concrete vats and Slavonian oak barrels using indigenous yeasts.

  • Maturation: The wine was aged in Slavonian oak barrels for 36 months, followed by extended bottle refinement before release.

  • Tasting Notes: The 2011 Brunello di Montalcino Annata is a beautifully balanced wine that opens with alluring scents of wild berry, rose, baking spice, and whiffs of chopped herb. Seamlessly combining ripe fruit and the firm's trademark finesse, the bright, elegantly structured palate delivers juicy wild cherry, crushed raspberry, white pepper, and a hint of black tea framed in polished tannins and fresh acidity.

  • Alcohol Content: Approximately 13.5% ABV.

  • Serving Temperature: 16–18°C. It is recommended to decant the wine 4–6 hours before serving.

  • Food Pairing: Ideal with roasted meats, game, and aged cheeses.
